Appointments
Can I bring more than 3 people to my appointment?
Yes, you absolutely can but we highly suggest only bringing up to 3 to avoid confusion. We also only have available seating for up to 4 people comfortably so please bear this in mind.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, our private fittings are by appointment only and are recommended for brides who are on the serious hunt & ready to purchase their made-to-order gown. Our stylists work with you to find your dream dress but also can help you in customising as all our dresses are fully customisable.
Please use our online booking system. If you need a later appointment, please do get in touch as we can always accommodate.
If you would like to browse our collection please view our wedding dresses page.
How long will my appointment be?
Our First Bridal Appointments are scheduled for one hour and thirty minutes, but rest assured that if we run over, we will happily schedule another appointment to make sure you make the decision.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please ensure you wear nude underwear to get the best feel for the dress.
If you plan on wearing any shapewear or have purchased any accessories/shoes please also bring these along with you.
What is your cancellation policy for appointments?
We kindly ask that you give us at least 72 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or re-schedule your fitting.
Since we are appointment-only, we thank you in advance for your cooperation, as we take in a very limited number of brides a day.
Please note booking fees are non-refundable.
General queries
What sample sizes do you stock?
We stock a range of sample sizes from a size 10 - 16 UK. If you are after a particular size in a certain dress though please do ask as we are able to get dresses on loan.
How far in advance should I start wedding dress shopping?
In order to ensure you’re not rushed with your decision-making, we recommend that you begin dress shopping 18-12 months in advance of your wedding date, and purchasing 10-12 months in advance of your wedding date.
This is the ideal sweet spot and not the absolute as we can always work with our designers and even offer off the rack dresses where needed.
What is the price range of your wedding dresses?
Our made-to-order wedding dresses range from £1,100 – £3,200.
What is the process of buying a dress from start to finish?
- Attend first wedding dress appointment with one of our stylists, where you will try on our sample wedding dresses. Refreshments will also be served.
- If you decide to purchase a dress from us, we will complete the order form and contract. This is where we will also take your measurements. Your will place a 50% deposit down.
- we advise this is when you need to book your seamstress in ready for when your wedding dress arrives.
- We will then order the closest dress size to be made.
- once your wedding dress is ready with the designer we will then ask for the balance in order for it to be shipped.
- Once the dress has been paid for in full we will the request you book a collection appointment via our website within 2-3 weeks of notification.
- you will then attend your collection appointment and carry out final inspections ready to take to your seamstress for alterations to ensure the dress fits to perfection!
How do I pay for my dress?
After the excitement of choosing your perfect wedding dress, the time will come when you decide to purchase your gown. Here, we take a 50% non-refundable deposit with the balance due when your wedding dress is ready to be shipped by the designer.
Please note that the full balance is required at the time of order for wedding dresses placed on a Priority service, and accessories.
What if there is a dress I'd like from a designer you stock but you don't carry this dress?
While we can’t carry entire collections from each of our designers, we can sometimes have the ability to request particular loan dresses.
Please email us if you’d like to enquire about requesting a wedding dress that we don’t carry as part of our collection.

How long will my wedding dress take to be made?
This is completely dependent on the designer you choose, there is up to a 9-month lead time for all made-to-order wedding dresses.
We have some very select styles that can be made in less time, so if you’re limited for time, please let us know upon booking.
Rush orders are available upon request, but keep in mind that additional fees will apply.
What is a 'trunk show'?
A trunk show is a limited period of time for brides to view and try additional styles /sizes from a particular designer outside of what Belle Lueur Bridal has in store.
In some cases, there is special pricing available during the show.
These trunk shows are by appointment only and have limited times to view/try, so please book your appointment as soon as you know you want to be part of this experience.
Made to order, alterations & custom dresses
Do you offer a wedding dress alternations service?
We do not offer this in house but we do offer recommendations all over Cumbria who have been personally vetted by us so you know you are being provided the best service.
What does 'made to order' mean when ordering my wedding dress?
Made-to-order means that your wedding dress is put into production when ordering.
Made-to-order wedding dresses are ordered to the closest numerical dress size or S/M/L/XL sizing (dependent on designer, unless otherwise specified), based on measurements taken during your appointment.
Your wedding dress is not made to exact measurements (which is referred to as “made-to-measure”).
In order to achieve the perfect fit, the bride must seek the assistance of a seamstress.
Do you offer custom wedding dresses?
Yes, we do offer custom gown consultations. Depending on the style and designer, alterations can be made to the dresses we carry i.e.: short sleeves vs. long sleeves, different neckline, fabric etc., but most of our gowns are ordered to the design of the sample dress.
Are alterations included in the price of my dress?
Please note that alterations are a separate cost from the purchase of your wedding dress and are not done in house.
We provide recommendations for seamstresses, if you have not been given these please email or call us and we will be happy to help.
Please bare in mind that seamstresses do get booked up in advance so you should be booking your seamstress appointment at the same time of ordering your wedding dress.
Caring for your wedding dress
How should I clean and store my wedding dress after my wedding day?
If you ask your stylist on collection they will be able to advise how best to clean your wedding dress.
When and how should I steam my wedding dress?
We always advise popping your dress in the bathroom a couple days prior to let any creases drop out naturally, this includes your veil if you have one.
If your dress requires more than this your stylist will advise on your collection appointment on how best to do this.
If your still a little unsure either give us a call or email.
